Posi gears
Just posting some more stuff; Posi gear, here an interesting article
Got the regulator and lock set. Installing was a breeze. The door lock were a bit stuck and needed cleaning but now they work like they should.
Did both brake cylinders on the rear axle and some upholstry work. Pfff.. don’t expect the repro upholstry kit to fit perfectly… Some fastening seams are just plain different from the original, especially on the rear bench.
The steering gear box is in! After waiting for about a month I can finally get crackin’ again. The 4-mount gearbox looks perfectly rebuilt. Thanks a million Bruce!
Got the Delco AM-radio today. My.. these things are HUGE. I don’t know what I’ll do, built it in as-is or modify it with some electronic gadgetry. I do need to build in an extra switched output for the automatic electrical antenna anyway.
Today I cleaned and repainted the dash pad. I made it semi gloss black because I want to put in a parchment interior later on. Finally I could install those dash bezels and glove-lid rubber stoppers I ordered half a year ago…
Someone three blocks away from my house had Pontiac center caps for sale – which is quite a rare experience here in the Netherlands. They’re ‘73 Ralley II models but look great. Looks like the wheels are complete and finished now. (Thanks for the tip Paul!)
I put in the carpet, what a difference! Things like these make you believe that it’s really coming along quite nicely. I also cleaned up the firewall and installed the wiper motor. The motor works but there’s something fishy on the switch wiring.
Today, again another package. I got the master cylinder, brake pads and rear view mirror from Rob Dusel. Thanks a lot Rob!
I’ve received the ralley gauges I bought from ebay(again…) and I have to thank Björn for sending it through to me! (again!) I never expected to see another set of those gauges (euhm… again).
